Aeroplio Theatre
A children's and youth theatre in Kypseli, Athens, a non-profit organisation since 1985 with a stage of its own. Its site had a theme from 2014, three slider systems running at once, and the children's parties hidden in a submenu behind the word "EVENTS4KIDS". The client asked for a rebuild in Elementor, so that he, or whoever takes over later, can run the site. We built it from scratch on our own server, in two languages, without touching his live site. It went live on aeroplio.gr 14 days after we started. A parent finds the parties from the menu. A teacher sends a request through the form, with no phone call.

What we did
Results
- 01The parties now have their own place in the main menu. On the old site there was no booking or enquiry button on any show or party page. On the new one, a request form sits on the enquiry page, on the pages for schools, language institutes and corporate groups, and on the teaching material page. The parties page gives the phone numbers of the person in charge, as the client asked
- 02The English edition was rebuilt under /en/ with Polylang (a free plugin for a second language), with its own menu and a language switcher. The new sitemap lists 28 Greek and 28 English pages, and all of them answer on the live site
- 03The old sitemap had 125 addresses, among them dozens of theme leftovers that had nothing to do with the theatre. We added 79 permanent redirects (301) to the new page and status 410 (permanently removed) for the leftovers. The 94 old addresses measured on the live site all answer correctly, on status code, target and final page. The show and party photos went in with a Greek description (alt), and more than 70 have an English one as well
- 04The homepage opens full screen with the client's 9 artworks. The position and size of each show's title come from measuring the empty area of its image. Where the title is painted into the artwork itself, no second title is added. The show cards turn in a coverflow (cards that rotate as they pass) we wrote in plain JavaScript, no library. In the parties carousel, 18 photos and none of them cropped
- 05The programme book (a flipbook, pages turning on screen) was a 22-page PDF from 2021. It was remade: 23 A5 pages with the current texts, with a fallback viewer for devices without WebGL (3D graphics in the browser). It does not load before the visitor comes near it: on the homepage, with no interaction, only the cover image loads
- 06Every page is in Elementor, as the client asked. The announcement bar switches on by publishing a page and off by setting it to draft, with no settings. The stack is free plugins throughout, no yearly licence cost, where the old site ran paid plugins. No fonts from Google, the fonts are served from the site's own server. A new privacy policy, linked from every page
